    His volunteer work spans more than 40 years and many organizations, such as the United Way of Lee County, the Village of Progress in Ogle County, and the Dixon Public Schools Foundation. He is the 1997 founder of the Dixon Stupor Bowl fundraiser for Dixon schools, and he has been the pronouncer for the Regional Spelling Bee for more than 40 years.
